National Songwriting Awards

The big winners at the ASA National Songwriting Awards held in Sydney on December 12th were composer Andrew Winton and the Naughton Sisters. Andrew won best Instrumental for ‘Mr Dudley’ and best Folk/Acoustic for ‘Waiting’. He also took out the APRA/ASA Songwriter Of The Year Award. Melia Naughton & Nerida Naughton were awarded the The Rudy Brandsma Award For Songwriting Excellence as well as the PPCA Best Live Performance Award.

Patrons were treated to a performance of ‘Bombora’ from the Atlantics who were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the tunes international success. Don Walker was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
